Customer photo review of CAMPLUX AY132Max 5L Gas Propane Water Heater with 4.3L Water Pump, Tankless Instant LPG Water Heater with Carrying Bag, For Camping&Outdoor Showers

I was sceptic at first. But wow, this thing does work great.Installing is easy. Plug and play.Expect for the stand that I have to screw. The water does heat up pretty quick.Once the propane is connected and water hose is attached. The water will be flowing out on the shower head. One thing I didn’t like is, there’s no on/off switch for the water. One the faucet is on, water is on and it takes like 5-10 seconds to warm the water. Thats quick for me.Heat temperature can be controlled. Which is good. Without it, probably water will boiling. It needs 2 D batteries. Not included on the package.Price is reasonable.I would recommend it.

It is really handy to have the free standing base for the trailer and a built in wall hanger for the cabin. Quick set up and disassembly. The sturdy carry bag provided makes it easy and convenient to pack up and transport. No tools needed. Just bring along your own propane tank and enjoy endless hot water.

This is a nice kit for a portable water heater, including stands and carry bag.The first thing you should know is that the water flow is less than even most "high-efficiency" or low flow showerheads. It's sufficient for a camp shower but can't compare to a home shower. Also, this works best if the source water temperature is at least mid-40's. Anything colder and you may not get quite as "hot" of a shower as you might like. The water source needs to be pressurized between 10 to 110 psi. This is very easy to set up and to operate. They provide an adapter hose/regulator for 20-lbs propane tanks to the quick-connect fitting on the water heater. The water intake accepts a standard 3/4" garden hose fitting. The water outlet is also a 3/4" fitting, and they provide a hose and showerhead for output. The showerhead has 3 spray patterns and a stop function. There are only two controls on the water heater - one for gas flow, which is how you control the temperature, and one for water flow to adjust the pressure. Start with the lowest gas flow and highest water flow and adjust from there until you achieve the temperature and flow desired. This is an auto-ignition device, and it will ignite as it senses water flow. Two D-cell batteries are required to provide the power for ignition. They do not include the D-cell batteries with the water heater, they must be purchased separately. There are a couple of mounting points built-in to the water heater to make it easy to hang or mount to the wall, and there is a folding handle you can use to carry or hang the water heater from. The carry bag is capable of storing EVERYTHING, including the stands. The stands need to be screwed onto the bottom of the water heater to use them. Screws are provided. This is perhaps my only complaint - I wish they used clamps or something as screws are easy to lose when camping. In the kit, they provided one additional storage "belt" with pockets that can store hoses, fittings or other small items. I'm not quite sure how they intend this to be used as the elastic belt is larger than the water heater. I'm not sure what it's meant to go around, it's kind of a mystery to me.This is pretty well thought out for ease-of-use and seems very sturdy. It's not the "Ritz" but it will get the job done when you're camping. I'm quite pleased with it overall as a camping or off-grid shower solution and think it's definitely worth the price.

Customer photo review of CAMPLUX AY132Max 5L Gas Propane Water Heater with 4.3L Water Pump, Tankless Instant LPG Water Heater with Carrying Bag, For Camping&Outdoor Showers

Oh how a hot shower can improve your mood after multiple days of grime. We used this during a 2 week hunting trip.WATER SUPPLY This needs a minimum of 10psi water pressure to work. We used a 12 volt submersible pump into the creek and a portable power station for electricity. Mind you were also packing solar panels to recharge the power station. Or you can use a gravity feed bag, a foot pump, or whatever you come up with, the submersible pump gives much better water pressure. Of course if available a water spigot and hose works. Let's face it though, I don't care if it's a trickle of hot water when Im ladened with filth when far away from modern conveniences.AUTO IGNITION This takes 2 D cell batteries to work. The water pressure triggers the electric ignition circuit. This means it will only heat when the correct water pressure is present and will automatically cut off the gas supply when it isn't. For reference water pressure needs to be a minimum of 10psi to trigger the automatic ignition, so you need to be able to meet that demand. Maximum water pressure is 110psi.PROPANE USAGE I can't confirm how much propane it goes through since we had it on a "Y" sharing the 5 lbs tank with our stove. Since we only showered 4 times using fast water saving techniques, (meaning get wet, turn the water off, lather up, then quickly rinse) and washed our hands and dishes daily in 2 weeks. I'd say it ran a total 45 minutes or so, and judged it went through 1 to 1-1/2 lbs of propane, since it was cold out and we had this baby cranked as hot as it would go, so of course it used more propane than if it was on a lower setting in a warmer climate.OVERALL THOUGHTS I have zero complaints but only one gripe. The red hose connected to the shower head is stiff, and not cooperative at all in colder weather. I'll be changing this to a differenttype of tubing to make it user friendly in the cold.JUST AN FYI This is recommended to use a maximum size of 20lb propane tank. Hopefully this was helpful, and font forget to take a D cell batteries and spares.Thank you!

We were pleasantly surprised at how well this portable tankless water heater works. You must have a pressurized water supply though and not just gravity fed. Assembly was easy and instructions were good. There is a specific process that must be followed when starting the water heater. We hooked the unit up to a propane tank and to our garden hose and as soon as the water was turned on, the igniter lit and the water instantly began to heat up. The water was very warm within seconds. When you turn the shower nozzle off, the fire instantly goes out. The unit only lights and uses propane when the shower nozzle is actually turned on and the water is flowing so we used very little propane for wetting and rinsing the vehicle. The igniter required 2 D batteries and you can hear it click several times and then ignite each time you turn the water on. The pressure was really good at the nozzle end but we did have a water leak at the connection on the underside of the tank so we changed out the washer twice (their supplied washers) but it did not stop the water leak. Also, the water never reached "scalding" at full water pressure but it was definitely warm enough to shower. We found that the lower the water pressure we used, the hotter the water became. Overall we are very pleased with this instant tankless water heater and will use it for washing vehicles, dogs, and outdoor showers. The only issue we had with this tankless water heater was the water leaking at the connection on the underside of the unit so we will be replacing their washers with some hopefully better ones.

This package is really awesome looking and can't wait to try it in the "wild" soon. From the unboxing, I can tell a lot of thought went into the entire concept and package. The feet can attach to provide stability on the ground. There is a good handle on the top, and mounting holes to secure it on a wall as another option. The propane hose is nice, quick connect onto the heater, and the other end fits a 20lb tank. The quick connect water lines are also really slick. The shower head connects on the output w/ the red hose and has a pause (stops the water) button. Unfortunately this kit does not come with an INPUT hose, to use and connect your water supply from. That is why I took off 1 star. The inlet/outlet quick connects look standard, but may be Camplux proprietary connectors. I'll need to find a water inlet hose. There are other kits from Camplux that include the water inlet line (blue) and a 12V pump. This system says it will work on just a couple of PSI, so my DIY water tank should work. Overall, it weighs 10lbs, and packs up nicely into a specially designed tote bag that seems very well thoughtout.

I got this with the intention of using it in a gravity fed water system in an off grid cabin. But I find out it requires a pressurized water source. So I can’t use this for my needs. Seems well made with quality accessories. Would be good for a hunting or other cabin with propane and a pressurized water source…well or city water connection.

CAMPLUX AY132Max 5L Gas Propane Water Heater with 4.3L Water Pump, Tankless Instant LPG Water Heater with Carrying Bag, For Camping&Outdoor Showers

Works very well, instant hot water for showers, dish washing etc. I like the button on the shower head to start/stop it. Very temperature stable and good water flow. Only possible improvement would be to have a lower temp setting as it was slightly too hot when set to min on gas and max on water flow. This was probably due to the very warm weather & we were using water from a collapsible 20Lt black bucket that had been in the sun. We turned off the gas to allow it to cool down a bit. As an aside, the blue water inlet hose and pump are great for filling up our vw California water tank if a hose pipe is not available! (Water only used for cooking & kettle not drinking).

Portable Gas Water Heater 5L with Pump & Folding Stand Camping

What an awesome product. We have a 1976 T2 camper and like to do music festivals. Up till now we had to use communal showers (euuugh) or go without (also euuugh). Now with the addition of a pop-up tent and small paddling pool (inside the tent) we enjoyed warm showers last weekend at Rewind festival. And the bonus of plentiful hot water for washing up, shaving, etc. Packs away nicely too. A great purchase!

AY132Max Portable Gas Water Heater with 4.3L Water Pump & Stand

Our Great Dane is too big for a inside bath and this was just the answer we needed. This heater hooks up fast and easy making the job of hooking up gas no more then removing the line for our grill. The water heats up fast and for a bath for him uses very little gas. This is a great solution for winter baths for animals that you can not bath inside.

And this was an easy way for me to add a shower as I already had a place on the outside to hold a propane tank. With a bit of insulation to the container to ensure the water for this shower isn't too cold and has the best chance of reaching the warmest/hottest possible for taking a quick shower once the RV's interior build is complete. I have a simple pump for water in the small kitchen sink and am working to figure out the best way to finish the RV on a budget. This may seem a bit pricey, but for what it is, it works for my situation and probably others who like the opportunity to take a shower when camping. This is not like taking a shower at home, but then camping isn't using like being home, now is it? For what you get, this works GREAT!

CAMPLUX AY132Max 5L Gas Propane Water Heater with 4.3L Water Pump, Tankless Instant LPG Water Heater with Carrying Bag, For Camping&Outdoor Showers

We got this for a variety of reasons:-We have had to live without power for a 2 week stretch due to storms and cold showers were frustrating.-We have a camping situation coming up for this summer when visitors will have to use outdoor shower as one bathroom will not serve everyone well.- Extended periods without electricity mean water and heat will be unavailable as we are on a well.WHAT YOU NEED TO USE THISIf you plan to get this heater for a shower, you will need:-propane tank. It can run on the kind you use for grills and we also have a smaller one that fits with some effort.-D batteries- these will last quite a while. If you are not using the shower, I encourage you to remove the batteries and place them in a plastic bag in the case. That way corrosion will not ruin the heater.-some sort of pressurized water from camper, hose, or manual pump camp shower.-a sturdy zipper topped bag to keep batteries, screws (for the frame), and other small parts in so they don't get lostPERFORMANCEBecause it has been brutally cold out ever since we got this, I have to say that our single test was all we had to offer. It was too cold to mess around outside. I will try to update as we use this over the summer. This works fine on the camp manual pump shower. It takes some time to get the pressure built up on the camp shower, which is a black bag that sits on the floor and you use the foot pump to build pressure. The hose for the shower comes out and can be routed to go through the heater if you like.Is it a shower like you get at home? No. It is a more gentle shower, which means you have to turn the heat down and the pressure open. You can reduce it some, but the camp shower does not have the force that a home or camper does.Does it work? Yes, this works. It does give some nice warm water and allows you to take a quick shower outside with some heat if you like.CAN THIS BE USED INDOORS.This can be used indoors, BUT you HAVE TO HAVE VENTILATION. DO NOT TRY TO RUN THIS INDOORS WITHOUT A WINDOW OPEN OR SOME WAY TO BRING FRESH AIR THROUGH. I say that emphatically because if there is a situation where you need to use this indoors you do not want to have carbon monoxide problems or other issues with fumes.THE BOTTOM LINEThis is a great way to have some heated water when you don't have it available for electricity outages, camping situations, or off grid needs. You do have to use a pump of some sort to make this work well, and a camp manual pump shower will work but won't be like home.MY RATINGFIVE STARS. Having this handy for those times listed (and unexpected ones that might come up) has been a great peace of mind for us. Having to go two weeks without heat, water, power, and warm showers was tough. We want to prepare for that in the future as well as cope with our backyard camping extravaganza this summer.

CAMPLUX AY132Max 5L Gas Propane Water Heater with 4.3L Water Pump, Tankless Instant LPG Water Heater with Carrying Bag, For Camping&Outdoor Showers

After initially putting the batteries in wrong, I finally realized that the positive/negative was counter-intuitive to the way battery usually are placed into a pack (i.e., the spring usually goes on the negative back of the battery). Not sure if the batter holder itself was wired incorrectly, but when I reversed the batteries, the unit worked perfectly. My dogs can now enjoy a nice warm bath rather than an ice cold hose down.I do recommend buying more substantial hose quick connects for the water inlet/outlet, rather than the plastic ones that come with the unit. But I did appreciate having high quality adapters for the water inlet and outlet to connect hoses.

I ordered this for review thinking it would make the perfect gift for my son who travels to survey buildings and entire small cities for ADA compliance, and lives out of his van. He is also an avid climber and camper so I thought he would be able to enjoy this tankless hot water heater for washing up. We have spent quite some time on Christmas Day examining it and reading the booklet with great care. Although the heat is produced by propane, and there is a place to insert some necessary batteries, it looks as if he will have a problem providing the necessary water pressure unless he can attach to a city water supply. It seems that would be impossible on a camping trip into the back country! We looked at water pumps, but of course if you want powerful pumps, you must use electricity. By the time you add an adequate solar panel, you are using space that it is not available in his tight quarters. He examined the water heater carefully and pronounced it carefully constructed. He would love to be able to use it, but we are wondering if there is any chance for him to do so, if he has to electrify a pump in order to get the needed water pressure.I am hopeful that when the holiday is past we can call and get some instructions as to how this can be set up to fulfill its promise of being useful in the back country -- or any country where there is no handy city water to attach it to.

CAMPLUX AY132Max 5L Gas Propane Water Heater with 4.3L Water Pump, Tankless Instant LPG Water Heater with Carrying Bag, For Camping&Outdoor Showers

We got this to add hot water to our "Dog House" now we can bathe the dogs outside in their own area rather than having to bring them in. We are all much happier about this. The heater itself works great and the dogs are very happy to have warm baths instead of just whatever comes out of the hose. This has really made things a lot better for both us and the dogs. It was easy to hook up and has worked reliably so far. Seems like a quality product.

CAMPLUX AY132Max 5L Gas Propane Water Heater with 4.3L Water Pump, Tankless Instant LPG Water Heater with Carrying Bag, For Camping&Outdoor Showers

I've only used the water heater a few times. The first time was a bit of a learning curve, but overall, the device worked as expected. Like other reviewers have said, you need to use a pressurized water source. You can't just drop an intake in a lake or stream. The unit will be great for extended car camping if the location has water hookups. If you're looking for a way to take hot showers in a power outage and don't mind doing it outside, this device would be perfect.

CAMPLUX AY132Max 5L Gas Propane Water Heater with 4.3L Water Pump, Tankless Instant LPG Water Heater with Carrying Bag, For Camping&Outdoor Showers

I use this primarily for bathing my dogs. They are large and have a propensity for rolling in stinky things. Set up is simple. You ned to have a water connection and supply D batteries and, of course, propane. The pressure is adequate. It gets warm enough for the dogs but at its hottest would be a bit to cool for my shower taking. Everything fits in the supplied bag but is is not really protective. But the shower works well for my pets.

CAMPLUX AY132Max 5L Gas Propane Water Heater with 4.3L Water Pump, Tankless Instant LPG Water Heater with Carrying Bag, For Camping&Outdoor Showers

One of our favorite family getaways is a rustic cabin in the national forest. There is no running water and obviously no heated water for showers. I saw this tankless water heater on Amazon and thought this might just solve the problem of no bathing or at least not having any hot water to do so. You hook this water heater up to your propane tank and light her up. the water flows through a series of pipes that are exposed to the flame from the propane. By the time the water gets to the exit, it is nice and toasty. Balancing the temperature is the only tricky part since the water can get pretty warm. Overall though, this solves the hot water problem for bathing as well as for washing dishes and for cooking. A great tool for the rustic camper.

CAMPLUX AY132Max 5L Gas Propane Water Heater with 4.3L Water Pump, Tankless Instant LPG Water Heater with Carrying Bag, For Camping&Outdoor Showers

I actually got this to bathe my big dog in the winter. He is too big to fit in the people shower, so we usually have to bathe him with buckets of warm water from the house. I thought this would be a much better way to do it. I've been eyeing different brands of these camp heaters for a while. This one hooks to a propane tank. You can control the water temperature. It never gets warm enough for me to bathe in, but it does get as warm as I bathe my dogs in so it's perfect for that. It's easy to use and has the same water pressure as my hose. The device itself is light and portable so it would be good for camping. The propane tank is not very light or portable. I guess most RVs have propane hookups.

CAMPLUX AY132Max 5L Gas Propane Water Heater with 4.3L Water Pump, Tankless Instant LPG Water Heater with Carrying Bag, For Camping&Outdoor Showers

We live in wildfire country in Northern California. We've been evacuated several times for a week or more and we've also returned to our house with no electricity and the gas turned off. Electricity is always restored before gas is turned back on. We have a gas water heater so with evacuations and waiting on utility companies we've been without hot water for long stretches. Having the ability to take this portable shower with us makes a huge difference. And now, having the ability to take a warm shower in our backyard while we wait for the gas to go back on is a big deal to us.The unit itself works fantastic. Hose pressure is more than adequate for a nice shower or using hot water for cleaning, dishes, etc. The stand is sturdy and the unit when on level ground is stable. Takes a couple minutes to set up and it is very portable. One big Pro-Tip if you are using it for a shower. If you purchase a shower tent, try to find one that has a camouflage print. When the sin hit a solid tent just right you can see a lot of detailed shadows. The camouflage printed tents help you maintain a little more modesty and/or dignity.

My husband hooked it up quickly and it has been a joy to use. Efficient and sturdy model. Wonderful for RV camping. I also used it to give my horses warm baths which they appreciated. They’ll stand still for warm baths but detest a cold washing, and I don’t blame them unless it’s a hot summer day. Good sized extension hose. Can also be connected easily to your garden hose which is a nice extra. Temperature can be controlled. Size makes it a simple transport item. A quality product.

CAMPLUX AY132Max 5L Gas Propane Water Heater with 4.3L Water Pump, Tankless Instant LPG Water Heater with Carrying Bag, For Camping&Outdoor Showers

This heats water quickly from any hose like water supply. I even use this to heat my swimming pool water when filling it after winter. The water gets a little over 100 degrees and really helps to warm it up to start the swim season. Nice for any warm or slightly hot water supply. The stand is stable and it lights instantly.Trust you found this review honest and helpful.

I spent some time looking at water heaters and I really like this one. I haven’t used it yet but will take it with me when I go camping. It is always nice to have hot water when you are camping away from campgrounds etc. I am also considering trying it out in the barn. I often need hot water for washing out water troughs and feeders. It may be a good temporary solution until I have hot water installed in the barn.

Propane or butane gas bottles. The supplied gas regulator is for propane gas bottle. You will need another 30mbar gas regulator if you use the appliance on butane gas bottle.

You will additionally need a LPG bottle, 2-D-size batteries, inlet water hose. If your local water pressure is low (under 1 bar) or the inlet water source is a water tank, you will need another water pump and 12V power source.

It is recommended to use this product in a well-ventilated place, such as outdoors, garden, balcon, horse stables, ect..
